THANK YOU TO OUR 2023 AMBASSADOR

Jake Birtwhistle Australian Triathlete

We are thrilled to announce Olympic triathlete and Launceston local, Jake Birtwhistle, as our 2023 event ambassador!

Originally from a running background, Jake represented Tasmania on many occasions over middle-and-long distance events and was crowned Australian Junior Champion eleven times before making the transition to triathlon at the age of 17.

After progressing through elite ranks in triathlon, Jake had a breakthrough 2018 season saw him grab five top-five finishes at the top level to secure a bronze medal in the World Championship series. In the same year a memorable second place in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and a gold for team Australia in the relay event.

In 2019, he recorded his first WTS victories after brilliant runs in Leeds and Hamburg which lead him to the Olympic Games in 2021, and a second Commonwealth Games in 2022 where he secured his third Commonwealth medal with a bronze in the relay event.

We thank Jake for supporting the 2023 challenge and can’t wait to have him join us on the day. You might even see him on the bike!
